In my research I prominently use the video of La Singla´s performance in the making of my (temporary) conclusions involving the archival of flamenco gestures. La Singla was a deaf-mute flamenco dancer who reached an immense level of fame in Spain, additionally attracting international interest. Her sense of rhythm and incredibly expressive body language (with a dramatic sense of urgency) resulted, for me, in by far the most impressive flamenco dance I had seen. This dramatism and expression were two points of interests which I wanted to capture through her embodied knowledge, in attempt at capturing this cultural art form it in time; resulting in a sort of archive.
